Karviná Sea is located south of the city of Karviná and serves as a natural leisure area for the city. Karviná Sea represents one of the first post-industrial sites in the area where a natural recreational transformation has been successfully implemented. The area south of Karviná Sea, along the adjacent Mlýnky stream, has similar potential.

Due to its proximity to the relatively large city of Karviná, the location offers potential for combined care of the natural ecosystem alongside the accessibility of the area for soft tourism and recreational activities. In line with the goals of the POHO2030 program, the care for natural areas with rare species of animals and plants, together with improving accessibility, is one of the aims that can enhance both the attractiveness and value of the area.
